Computer Hiccups

The other night I was in the middle of working when all of a sudden my computer just went off. I rebooted it and it started up okay. A few minutes later I was again working away and bloop - Off it went. Howard came up and jiggled some wires, but to no avail. So, into the computer doctor it went.

Now for two people to all of a sudden have just one computer might bring a so what to many peoples minds. However, having been spoiled for so long, it is a bit of a strain. We finally dug out the very old (and slow) laptop that one of our cadets had given us many years ago. It is so old, that we had to hardwire it since it didn't have a wireless card. So, there we sat with a long cord hanging about from one end of the room to the other. It worked, I just had to be patient with the speed that things got done. At least we both could be on the Internet at the same time.

We finally got the computer back and Howard again hooked it up. It worked okay for one night, then this morning, the keyboard wouldn't work when we booted up. We tried Howard's wireless keyboard and it worked just fine. So, another trip to Office Depot was needed. Howard also took back my wireless mouse which seems to eat batteries overnight.

I am once again in the land of working computer parts. I have an almost brand new computer (new mother board and power supply), a new keyboard, and a new wireless mouse.
