Dav7 - Walks and more Walks
At breakfast most mornings, I create my own plate rather than ordering a hot dish. My favorite is the smoked salmon.
After breakfast, we join the gentle walker group to tour the city of Vienne. We were fortunate to be able to take the little min train to the top of the hill overlooking the city. At the very top is the little chapel. You also look down onto the old amphitheater. We took the little train down and proceeded to walk through the city. Old Roman walls and buildings are everywhere. The people use the material from old ruins to help build their new structures. Even way back centuries ago the people were into recycling.
During lunch we cruised up river to Lyon.
Once we made port we had a bus tour of the city, then went with the gentle walker group. It ended up being just the two of us with our private guide. In Lyon two rivers converge, the Rhone and the Saone rivers. Again many old buildings with various styles depending on who was in power.
Dinner tonight was the Chef's Table. Seven courses but small portions. My favorite was the first appetizer course. The menu said Potato. Turned out it was a sliced potato turned into a potato chip.
That's all for this day.
Cheers
