What are Gypsy feet?

Well, we have finally joined the latest craze and created a blog site. Since our wanderings seem to take us all over the place, we thought this would be a good place for those of you who know us to keep track of where we are or have been. Hence the name Gypsy Feet.

Since we sold the bed and breakfast at the end of July of 2004, we have criss crossed the country from CA to the East Coast and back again. Of course many of our CA visits were to see our new grandbaby Josiah (and his parents Laurie & Nic). However, they also were to take assignments at a CA B&B in Sutter Creek.

Our trip back east was not only for business (consulting at a new inn and an Interim Innkeeping class afterwards) but also that long awaited Eastern Road trip that we always promissed ourselves. We had a wonderful time, seeing our former Air Force Cadets, visiting the Smithsonian, seeing Williamsburg, Monticello, and spending time with former B&B guests who became friends. In addition, we have had assignments here in CO as well as taught a number of Interim Innkeeping classes.

We are actually home for a whole month and a half before we are on assignment again up at our friends in Cripple Creek (Carr Manor Inn - www.carrmanor.com ). We have had our own visitors to our new townhouse. It seems funny to not have to worry about what the guest wants or thinks. These visitors know us for what we are and take us warts and all.

Our posts for the next month or so may not be many, but starting on Sept. 15th be prepared. We are off on our much delayed trip across the ocean to England. We celebrated our 40th anniversary this year and couldn't think of a better time to take this trip. We had put off an English trip when we first bought the Bed & Breakfast back in 1994.

We will be spending a month abroad - Three weeks in England and almost a week in Ireland. We expect that we will have a number of new terms that we will learn as we try to understand the British, Irish, and Scottish versions of English.

Here is one for starters -
Do you know what "Sleeping Policeman" are? Give up? ----------------------- Speed Bumps.
Makes sense I guess as they do cause you to slow down just like you would if you saw a police car on the side of the road.

Happy Travelings
